How to use Ted's Notes

• Yes, I passed both the A+ tests, with a fairly high score. I don't remember exactly what the scores were. However I'm still unable to find a job in IT; I'm still driving a taxi.
• Note the green menu to your right.
• The numbers, in parenthesis, at the right of each menu item are the page numbers where that menu choice will send you.
• Often, several subjects are on the same page, and therefore several menu items may send you to that same page.
• Most pages will be shown on the menu with light or dark green text on a light green background, but menu items for the page that you are on will be shown with orange text on a yellow background. This is true for the main menu as well as for any submenus. However, if you are on a page, and its listing on a submenu is, as expected, shown in yellow, the menu choice above it in the menu hierarchy, will also be shown in yellow, even if it is for a different page.
• If you are on a page, and there is a menu on that page, all the menu items that refer to that page, will be highlighted in yellow, not just the menu item you clicked on, to get to that page.
• Pages that you have not visited for quite awhile, will be shown on the menu in dark green text on a light green background. Pages that you have visited recently, will be shown in light green text on a light(er) green background. The difference between recently and not recently, is a function of a setting in the web browser you are using.
• Amount of Detail.
• Sometimes I go into detail. Other times I do little more than tell you about a subject that I think you need to know about, and leave it to you to find information about it elsewhere. Like, you know, google it yourself.
• I may think that I don't need to go into detail, for various reasons. Perhaps it is something that I think is easy to understand, or I may think it is something for which there are already abundant resources on the net, that you can easily find. Sometimes I may point you to a particular resource that I think does a good job of explaining a topic, and I feel there is little I can do to improve upon it.
• Sometimes I go into more detail than is necessary for the goal of merely telling you what you need to know to answer the questions on the test. I may be doing this because I feel this is important information for a technician to have, or because I feel the information is rather interesting. Unfortunately, sometimes I may be doing this simply to show off about how much knowledge I have in this area.

Taking the Test
